Hello, how's it going ?

Hope all is well with you...... Sorry I have not been around so much lately, but I have been spending alot of time running back and forth to doctors and hospitals in Tulsa, Muskogee, and Oklahoma City (OKC) lately taking various tests... Seems they believe I have some problems that need attention, but they want to make sure I am healthy enough for surgery before they schedule it... Going to Tulsa isn't so bad. It's only about 75 miles away... I can get ready, go there, make my doctors appointment, and come back home in a day... But when I have to go to the VA Hospital in Muskogee, that's about 150 some miles down there...and the OKC VA Hospital is about 200 miles away... So, when I have a early appointment at either of those hospitals, we (my wife always goes with me) go down the night before and spend the night in a motel.... The reason is that it takes me about 2 and a half hours or more, just to get ready to go in the mornings... When I first wake up I am generally in considerable pain, and it takes an hour or so before my pain pills start working on me enough to be able to actually get out of bed. Then I have to go to the bathroom, take a shower, get dressed, and be ready to leave, and even then I am still moving pretty slow.... So, when I have to go to the Muskogee or OKC VA Hospitals, it's just much easier for us to go down the afternoon before my appointment and spend the night..... But like I said, I'm sorry I have not been around so much lately...but I drop in when I am home and can...... And I hope all is going well with you...... How was your trapping season this year?

First off, I am sorry to hear of the tough times you are having, and I appreciate you still dropping by.


My trapping season never really ends with the work I do, and though I have been I guess you could say steadily making catches, the hot weather has prevented the beaver from moving as they should (my theory), and therefore I don't feel like my catch is where it should be. Of course, the other side to that is that thankfully I am beginning to finally clean out some places after trapping them so hard for what seems like forever, and of course you can't catch what ain't there. Trapping them is fun, but I always love to see a job well done, which is of course a free flowing stream. *Pats self on back

Well, they have me set up for surgery... I have to go to the OKC (Oklahoma City) VA Hospital on March 13th to discuss it with them, and for them to do blood tests and whatever else they need to do prior to surgery... Then the actual surgery is scheduled for the 20th of March at 6:AM... OKC is about a 3 1/2 to 4 hour drive for us from our home, so we will go down the night before and spend the night, for both of my appointments.... They said the surgery would be just one day, and I'd be out that evening, or at least by the next day...if there were no problems..... So, if you don't see my name as having been here down at the bottom of the forum for a few days come March, you will know why.
